Childhood Abuse/Trauma

If an adult has been abused as a child they may or may not be suffering from PTSD. Abuse can be Physical, Sexual, Psychological, Emotional, Severe neglect. Not everyone who has suffered trauma as a child will experience problems in adulthood. However many adults do suffer, and are often afraid to come forward often believing that they should have got over it by now. There can also be intense feelings of shame in relationship to childhood abuse, particularly; but not limited to sexual abuse. Childhood Abuse/Trauma can affect peoples lives in a variety of ways, and will be different for each individual but effects can be although not limited to; Relationship problems; Low Self Esteem; Depression; Anxiety; Poor sleep; Eating Disorders; Drug and Alcohol Misuse; Self Harming Behaviours, and Complex PTSD.
